“MCPD serves a critical role in connecting the called individual to the greater resources of the Assemblies of God fellowship. Working together, each expands their capacity to advance the good news through word and deed.” —Darlene Robison, Missionary Church Planters & Developers senior director

Missionary Church Planters and Developers focus on planting churches, assisting existing churches and their leadership, and partnering with districts.

The efforts of these missionaries are expressed in five areas: children’s ministries, urban ministries, rural ministries, church planting, and development.

Missionary church planters plant churches in places that are often overlooked by the church at large. You will find missionary church planters in major urban cities, forgotten rural communities, and among people groups that are significantly resistant to the gospel.

Church developers partner with a church and its leadership to strengthen the leadership skills and help grow the church into a strong, healthy community. Often, pastors who are nearing retirement will feel led to become a church development missionary to mentor younger pastors and leaders in the faith.
