Oasis Refuge - Willard, Missouri (Springfield area)

The Oasis Refuge is looking for several team members: house parents, overnight staff, and weekend direct care staff. 

The Oasis Refuge is a shelter for girls ages 12 to 17 who are survivors of sex trafficking. Oasis Refuge provides a place for them to find hope, restoration, and dignity. It is a home-based shelter that provides for the girls' therapy, education, spiritual development, and recreation. 

House Parents will provide a parental, nurturing environment for up to 7 residents (Monday through Friday). Direct Care Staff live in a private suite in the shelter with the residents while carrying out daily activities as in a family setting and according to Oasis Refuge programming. 

Must have an ability to communicate with adolescents in a respectful and professional manner, exhibit compassion, empathy, and understanding. Must be able to implement reasonable limits and structure for each child in a fair and consistent manner. Direct Care staff work under the supervision of the Program Director. 

Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate. Must be responsible, mature individuals of reputable character, in good physical condition, able to exercise sound judgment, and display the capacity to provide effective good care and supervision of adolescents. Experience in working with children/adolescents having emotional and behavioral challenges is preferred. Requires a valid driver's license. 

Night Staff provides night-time supervision during sleeping hours for up to 7 residents on a 10-hour rotation schedule. You will complete routine resident room checks, assure the building is secured, and all residents are in their rooms. Must document all notable out-of-the-ordinary activities that occur during the night. Alert on-duty Direct Care staff of any emergencies. Night Staff works under the supervision of the Program Director. 

Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate. Must be responsible, mature individuals of reputable character, in good physical condition, able to exercise sound judgment, and display the capacity to provide effective good care and supervision of adolescents.

Weekend Care Staff provides a parental nurturing environment for up to 7 residents on Saturdays and Sundays (weekends). Relief Direct Care Staff essentially live in with the residents while carrying out daily activities as in a family setting and according to Oasis Refuge programming. They serve as relief staff during emergencies or scheduled time-off periods for Direct Care staff and must possess the same qualifications. Relief staff work under the supervision of the Program Director. 

Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate. Must be responsible, mature individuals of reputable character, in good physical condition, able to exercise sound judgment, and display the capacity to provide effective good care and supervision of adolescents. Experience in working with children/adolescents having emotional and behavioral challenges is preferred. Requires a valid driver's license.

Housing provided for the house parents only. All meals and snacks are available free of charge during work hours to all staff.
